NOTE: United States citizens who are at least 17 years of age can register to vote online through the New Jersey Division of Elections website or by mailing a completed Voter Registration Application to the Middlesex County Commissioner of Registration.

• Early Voting

This new option enables all registered voters to cast their ballot in person, using a voting machine, during a nine-day period prior to Election Day for the General Election and a three-day period prior to the Primary Election at any of the early voting locations within Middlesex County.

NOTE: If your voter record indicates that you have an active vote-by-mail status, you will need to request to be removed from the vote-by-mail list. You must complete the Vote by Mail Removal Request Form and either mail or email it to the Office of the County Clerk. For information regarding the address and email of the County Clerk, please view the form. 

 Middlesex County's Designated In-Person Early Voting Locations:

NOTE: Early Voting Centers are for in-person voting only. Vote-by-mail ballots cannot be submitted at Early Voting locations.

VOTE by mail:

 1. Apply 

Mail-In Ballots are available in the County Clerk's office and must be requested in writing by filling out a Mail-In Ballot Application. Your personal signature is required. The County Clerk's office must receive Mail-In Ballot Applications by mail no later than seven days prior to the election date.

 *Faxed copies of a Mail-In Ballot Application are NOT acceptable due to the need for an original signature*

NOTE: Any mail-in voter who fails to apply in writing for a mail-in ballot within seven days prior to an election may apply in person at the County Clerk's office up until 3 PM the day before the election.

2. Complete 

Once you receive your ballot in the mail . . .

• Fill it out and choose the candidates you want to vote for
• Seal the completed ballot in the certificate envelope
• Sign the certificate envelope next to the red X 
• Seal the completed certificate envelope in the outer envelope provided

NOTE: If you lost, damaged, or did not receive your Mail-In Ballot you may request a replacement ballot from the County Clerk's Office by: 

• Calling 732-745-4202
• Mailing, faxing, or emailing a Replacement Ballot Request Form to the Office of the County Clerk.

3. Return

Vote-by-mail ballots may be returned through the United States Postal System (USPS) or by using the drop box located in front of the stairs of the Plainsboro Township Municipal Building.
