Blood Shortage – Please Donate
The New Jersey Blood Services has declared an Emergency Blood Appeal for our area. This is the second blood emergency in the last 75 days and the fifth of 2022, which is more frequent that previous years. A blood emergency occurs when there is a significant gap between the amount of blood donations and need from local hospitals. Currently the region’s blood supply is less than a 2-day supply for some blood types.
Unfortunately, this isn’t just a local problem as blood centers across the nation have been struggling over the last two and a half years.
Help us by giving blood at a community blood drive scheduled in Plainsboro (see below). Spread the word by posting the drive on your social media, intranet, sending email to your friends and family notifying them of the critical need for blood at this time.
