[ARCHIVED] Hurricane Preparedness Night


Are you and your family prepared for another hurricane? The National Weather Service has predicted that the 2013 hurricane season will produce more powerful storms then ever before. NOAA predictions include 13-20 named tropical storms with 7-11 reaching hurricane status. Do you know what you and your family need to survive the storm? The Plainsboro Township Office of Emergency Management would like to invite you to the Hurricane Preparedness Night on September 12th 2013 at 7:00pm at the township’s recreation center. Representatives from the township as well as from various Middlesex County agencies will share useful tips to make sure you are prepared. The following departments will be presenting information to help you prepare.

• Plainsboro Office of Emergency Management – General information and Township response
• Plainsboro Police Department- Township safety
• Plainsboro Building Department – How to prepare your house for the storm
• Plainsboro Public Works- Roadway Safety
• Plainsboro Fire Department- Fire hazards
• Plainsboro CERT- Making a family survival kit
• Middlesex County Health Department - Loss of power and food safety

Hurricanes are one of the most dangerous natural disasters our township and residents could face; being prepared is the most important task not only for the township but also for your family.
