A controlled, managed deer hunt (not a recreational hunt) is currently in progress at the Plainsboro Preserve. The deer harvest is being conducted as a result of significant damage to vegetation at the Preserve caused by the overpopulation of deer. The managed hunt, is a limited hunt, by permit only and is not open to the general public.
The Preserve will remain OPEN to the public on the following dates during which BOW hunting only will take place:
September 29
October 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 22, 25, 27 and 29
November 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17 and 29
December 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29 and 31
January 1, 3
February 11 and 14
Patrons are asked to avoid unmarked trails and to wear bright colors when using the Preserve.
The Preserve is CLOSED to the public on the following dates during which FIREARM AND BOW hunting will take place:
November 19, 26 and 27
December 12, 13 and 14
January 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28 and 31
February 2, 4, 7 and 9
