Plainsboro’s Community Garden program provides residents the opportunity to cultivate a 400 square foot plot of land with vegetables, fruits and flowers. Located on the south side of Plainsboro Road, west of Maple Avenue, there are 54 separate plots available. The township provides the land and water; all that is required from the resident is a hose, seeds and the desire to garden.
The planting season begins in April and ends in December, but residents are encouraged to submit a plot application as soon as applications are accepted. Each application requires a $25 non-refundable fee and upon the award of a plot a $50 refundable security deposit. Residents that maintained a plot the previous year are given the opportunity to keep the same plot. The remaining plots are assigned to residents on a first-come, first-serve system.
