Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson holds an M.A. in Curriculum, Instruction & Supervision, a New Jersey Supervisors Certificate, and has been teaching and coaching in the West Windsor-Plainsboro School District for 24 years in all grade levels from First Grade through High School. In his decade as 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher, he facilitated Model United Nations assemblies and played an instrumental role as the WW-P Community Middle School lead pilot teacher for the Eight Grade Exit Performance Assessment - a driving force for the teaching and assessment of the 21st Century Learner Competencies. He was featured in the documentary of this cutting-edge assessment and, along with Seamus Dowling, Maria Pyle, and Debbie Kline, was a member of the cohort under "NJ Visionary of the Year" Mark Wise that was recognized at the United Nations for "Best Practice in Education." In the past four years as U.S. History teacher, Mr. Jackson has created and facilitated countless Debates, Socratic Seminars, Mock Trials, and Model Congress Simulations and has co-authored many Performance Assessments and Rubrics for the teaching and assessment of the 21st Century Competencies for Effective Communication, Research, Collaboration, and Problem Solving with a particular emphasis on public speaking/presentation skills. In addition to his academic expertise, "Coach Jackson" has 20 years experience coaching football, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, cross-country, and Track & Field and has twice been awarded the Trentonian and Trenton Times "Coach of the Year" honor which makes him a uniquely qualified camp leader and motivator of this fun and festive summer Debate camp experience!
